Marcy Eason Elected to Vice Chair of the Tennessee Supreme Court's Access to Justice Commission

Marcy Eason, Member of Miller & Martin PLLC in its Chattanooga office, was elected Vice-Chair of the Tennessee Supreme Court's Access to Justice Commission. Ms. Eason has been a member of this commission since 2012 having been selected by the state Supreme Court. The Commission was established by the Supreme Court in 2009. It is charged to develop a strategic plan for improving access to the judicial system for those in need of civil legal assistance who cannot afford an attorney. The Commission has led the nation in innovative programs to ensure low income individuals have access to justice by implementing tactics to increase resources and funding for civil matters.

Ms. Eason has over 35 years in the areas of civil litigation and complex matters. In addition to serving as former Tennessee Bar Association President, Marcy Eason is a member and former Board Chair of several other professional and community organizations. In 2011, she was inducted into the inaugural class of Legal Aid of East Tennessee's Pro Bono Hall of Fame, an acknowledgement of her long-standing commitment to pro bono representation, consistent support of Legal Aid of East Tennessee, and effective advocacy for equal access to justice for all Tennesseans.
