Miller & Martin Appoints New Leadership to the Litigation Department

The firm is pleased to announce that James Williams has been appointed to serve as Chair of the firm's Litigation Department. In addition, Alison Martin will take on the role of Chattanooga Vice-Chair while Ryan Kurtz continues in his role as the Atlanta Vice-Chair.

Mr. Williams concentrates his practice in civil litigation with emphasis on business disputes, insurance coverage and product liability. He has handled a wide variety of litigation matters including commercial contract and warranty disputes, ERISA and non-ERISA life and disability plans, property disputes, libel claims and coverage matters involving CGL and D&O policies. He has argued cases before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Tennessee Supreme Court and the Tennessee Court of Appeals.

Ms. Martin concentrates her practice in civil litigation with an emphasis on business litigation. She represents clients in federal and state court and arbitration matters involving breach of contract, business dissolution disputes, personal injury defense, and health care reimbursement, credentialing and peer review issues.

Mr. Kurtz concentrates his practice in the areas of business and commercial dispute resolution, including intellectual property and international litigation and arbitration. He advises several foreign and foreign-owned businesses regarding their U.S. operations and in preventing, managing, and resolving transnational and local disputes. He does trial and appellate work in both Federal and State courts including patent and trademark, trade secrets, ERISA, contracts, construction, real estate, defamation, insurance coverage, and financial institution bond matters.
