The Daily Report's "Top Georgia Verdicts of 2014" ranked the $495,000 verdict received in favor of Miller & Martin's client Southern Polymer, Inc. as the top verdict last year in the Intellectual Property category.

In the Fall of 2014, Miller & Martin attorneys Christopher Parker, Michael Kohler and Megan Taylor obtained a $495,000 verdict in favor of Firm client Southern Polymer, Inc. following a 7-day jury trial in Fulton Superior Court. The verdict included $175,000 in punitive damages in a case involving the theft of confidential information, breach of fiduciary duty, violation of the duty of loyalty, interference with business relations and contractual breaches by former Southern Polymer employees. The jury further determined that Southern Polymer is entitled to a recovery of its attorneys' fees and costs which will be determined by the Court in further proceedings. The case presented unusual challenges based on the defendants' widespread destruction of evidence prior to trial. The jury found in favor of Southern Polymer on every count asserted.
