Miller & Martin attorneys Christopher Parker and Michael Kohler recently obtained a $495,000 verdict in favor of Firm client Southern Polymer, Inc. following a 7-day jury trial in Fulton Superior Court. The verdict includes $175,000 in punitive damages in a case involving the theft of confidential information, breach of fiduciary duty, violation of the duty of loyalty, interference with business relations and contractual breaches by former Southern Polymer employees. The jury further determined that Southern Polymer is entitled to a recovery of its attorneys' fees and costs which will be determined by the Court in further proceedings. The case presented unusual challenges based on the defendants' widespread destruction of evidence prior to trial. The jury found in favor of Southern Polymer on every count asserted.

Attorney Megan Taylor and litigation paralegal Kyle Cooley provided substantial assistance in trial process, as did Miller & Martin's Litigation Support team headed by Brad Drewett. According to Chris Parker, "It was a group effort with a great result for our client."
