Attorney Ryan Kurtz Quoted in Global Atlanta Article on Georgia Governor Kemp Visit to Italy
July 24, 2024
In the Global Atlanta article titled "Governor Kemp's Next International Mission: Italy," the July 2024 trip to Italy by Georgia's governor and other state officials is in the spotlight, explaining that the trip's itinerary is partially designed to show how Italian firms — large and small — are creating jobs across the entire state and driving economic activity, especially in rural areas. The article states that the Georgia Department of Economic Development estimates 5,000 jobs in the state are tied to Italian firms.
Miller & Martin attorney Ryan Kurtz, who works frequently with Italian firms and formerly served as Honorary Consul of Italy in Atlanta, was quoted saying, “The governor’s decision to personally visit Italy is an acknowledgment of the quality and diversity of the Italian market and the Italians’ strong attraction to the state of Georgia and the business-friendly environment created by Governor Kemp and Pat Wilson.”
As part of his litigation practice and role as co-chair of the World Law Group's Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group, Mr. Kurtz advises foreign and U.S. businesses regarding the prevention, management and resolution of international disputes. He is well-versed in Italian-American business relations from his early experience as a visiting attorney in Rome, Italy to serving from 2016 to 2020 as the Honorary Consul of Italy in Atlanta. He is a founding member and board member of the Italy America Chamber of Commerce for the Southeast (Georgia Chapter) and is also a board member for the Italy Atlanta Alliance and the Italy Atlanta Foundation. In 2023, Mr. Kurtz was knighted Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia (Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy) on behalf of President of Italy Sergio Mattarella for his work promoting Italian-American Relations.
