Richard Rose Honored as Fellow of the Chattanooga Bar Foundation

September 14, 2021

In recognition of his outstanding professional achievements as a lawyer and for his commitment to the Chattanooga community, Miller & Martin attorney Richard Rose will be inducted into the Chattanooga Bar Foundation Fellows Class of 2021 at the Law Day Celebration luncheon on September 15, 2021. Each year the CBF invites a select few to join the ranks of the local Fellows. The Fellows work to improve the study of law, improve the administration of justice, elevate the ethical standards of the bench and bar, improve relations between the members of the legal profession and the public, help lawyers who are ill, award scholarships and provide funds for charitable causes.

Mr. Rose clerked for the Tennessee Court of Appeals and then joined Miller & Martin in 1996.  He is a Member practicing within the firm's litigation department and concentrates his practice in the areas of healthcare investigations and litigation, construction litigation, and commercial litigation. He represents healthcare clients in connection with healthcare fraud and abuse issues and related civil and criminal proceedings, including litigating matters arising under the False Claims Act and responding to investigations and enforcement actions brought by government regulators. He also represents and counsels construction general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in construction litigation, lien enforcement and litigation, and contract reviews and disputes. Additionally, Mr. Rose represents both large and small businesses in general business and commercial litigation. He counsels clients in the insurance, healthcare, retail, real estate, and manufacturing sectors regarding Information Security and Privacy, responses to major data breaches, and compliance with HITECH, HIPAA, GLBA, and other data retention and compliance laws. He was selected by Best Lawyers as the 2021 Lawyer of the Year for Health Care Law and the 2020 Lawyer of the Year for Construction Litigation for the greater Chattanooga area.

A Chattanooga native, Mr. Rose attended East Ridge High School and graduated with a J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law after attending the University of Georgia for his undergraduate degree. He is a board member and past president of the Chattanooga Chapter of the American Inns of Court, a board member for the Chattanooga Bar Association and a member of the Tennessee Bar Association.
