Miller & Martin Adds Attorney Jason McCarter as Member in Atlanta

Miller & Martin PLLC is pleased to announce attorney Jason S. McCarter has joined the firm as a Member in the Atlanta office.

McCarter is a skilled business litigator with 22 years of experience, including stints with the Atlanta offices of Eversheds Sutherland and King & Spalding. He represents automotive, technology and other business enterprises in complex commercial disputes and regulatory investigations. He also counsels and advocates for clients facing contract, business tort, secured lending, creditors' rights and licensing issues. Named a Commercial Litigation Leader by The Best Lawyers in America in 2021, McCarter practices in state and federal courts as well as alternative dispute resolution forums around the country.

McCarter has prosecuted and defended numerous complex lawsuits and ADR proceedings, including breach of contract, trade secrets, antitrust, RICO, class actions and unfair competition claims. He is also skilled in drafting customer-facing forms, loan agreements and online terms for clients and has developed substantive expertise in UCC, usury, licensing, judgment collection and consumer protection requirements.

Admitted to the bar in Georgia and North Carolina, McCarter holds a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law where he co-founded the Virginia Sports & Entertainment Law Journal. He earned an undergraduate honors degree in History from the University of Tennessee. While in law school, McCarter was a law clerk intern for the Honorable Thomas J. Wiseman, Jr. for the Middle District of Tennessee, and twice served as a summer associate with the firm now known as Stites & Harbison in Nashville, Tennessee.

He is a member of the Georgia Bar Association and its Business Law and Creditors' Rights Sections. McCarter is also involved in the Atlanta community with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation’s Saturday Lawyers Program, the U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Cities - Georgia Coalition, the GE Street Law Project and as a member of the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association.
