Please join us for a complimentary breakfast program on Thursday, September 29, 2016 where we will discuss “Union Wars: The Force Awakens."One of the policy initiatives of the Obama Administration has been to bolster the presence of unions in the workforce. The National Labor Relations Board has supported this initiative on multiple fronts, including instituting "quickie elections," letting unions cherry-pick job groups to organize, allowing temp workers to join a union with regular employees, attempting to implement new "persuader" reporting requirements, striking down common employer policies and enhancing penalties for unfair labor practices. Meanwhile, unions have grown more determined and sophisticated in their organization efforts and have targeted industries and regions, such as Tennessee, where they have had less of a presence in the past. This program will address:

  • An overview of the changing landscape
  • What your company should do so as not to become a target of union organization efforts
  • Groundwork to have in place in case you do find yourself in this position
