Each year, the Chattanooga Bar Association (CBA) holds an annual event honoring esteemed colleagues and to elect new officers. This year, Miller & Martin attorney, David Kesler, was awarded the Albert L Hodge Volunteer Award. This is given to an attorney, who has provided exemplary volunteer service to the CBA and the larger legal community. Kesler was specifically recognized for playing a significant role in helping to launch the CBA mentoring program in 2012. Serving three years as lead of the program, he has impacted numerous young attorneys who have grown, both professionally and personally, as a result.

Before joining Miller & Martin, Kesler was an associate with Strang Fletcher, where he worked closely with the late Albert L. Hodge, for over 10 years. This made receiving the award "even more special" said Kesler, remembering him fondly as, "an incredible mentor, whom young lawyers gravitated toward."

Kesler concentrates his practice in employment law and defending employers in employment litigation and arbitrations. He has represented a number of national and international corporate clients in employment litigation cases, in state and federal courts throughout the country. Actively mentoring young lawyers through the CBA, Kesler also has counseled many new attorneys through the Miller & Martin mentoring program. He has been referred to as the "go to" legal guru, always willing to provide a listening ear and offer sound advice. Kesler earned his J.D. with honors, from Tulane University School of Law in 1972.
