On Wednesday, April 9, 2014, Miller & Martin hosted an event that provided undergraduate minority and female students from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga ("UTC"), with a first-hand look at the legal profession. Miller & Martin attorneys from several of the firm's practice groups served as panelists in an interactive question/answer discussion about the firm, law school and various careers within the law.

Cynthia Long, director of the Educational Opportunity Center at UTC commented, "We are pleased to partner with Miller & Martin again to identify students who are considering a career in the legal profession for this much needed mentoring opportunity. Our students who attended the first event came away with a lot of valuable information."

"Through our work on the 'Pipeline Project' in partnership with UTC, we hope to influence diverse students, who may be considering a career in the legal industry, by having candid dialog and encouraging students who may have doubts as to whether or not this career path is a viable option for them," said Miller & Martin member, Tom Hayslett.

We hope to coordinate similar events of this nature in the future.
