On June 10, 2020, OSHA published a News Release addressing frequently asked questions and answers about Face Coverings, Masks, and Respirators in the workplace. While the Release is a guidance, and not a new standard or regulation, it does contain recommendations and descriptions of mandatory safety and health standards. While advisory in nature, employers should review the FAQs if there are questions with respect to face coverings, surgical masks and respirators.
The Release can be reviewed on the OSHA website here.
