Course Description:

Although hosted in collaboration with the Chattanooga Regional Manufacturers Association, this complimentary Labor & Employment lunch seminar is open to any private employer or non-profit organization interested in learning more about this new Care Partnership Grant opportunity.

Dana Glenn, Director of Licensing, Childcare and Community Services with the Tennessee Department of Human Services, will provide information about the NEW Care Partnership Grants. This panel will also include Dan Rosenberg of SK Food Group Inc. as a manufacturing company representative regarding their experience with this new grant initiative. Jessica Pilcher, United Way's Director for Working Families, will also share insights as a nonprofit representative.

The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) is dedicated to expanding access to affordable, high-quality childcare in Tennessee. Workforce retention and recruitment continues to be a challenge for private employers. Child-care is central to the well-being of most employees. This new initiative seeks to create partnerships between non-profit organizations and private employers to design and implement strategies that expand child care access and capacity to serve the partnering employer’s workforce. The goal is to add slots or spaces of child care capacity through expansion of existing child care agencies or creation of new child care agencies.  By engaging Tennessee employers to invest in their workforce through innovative child care strategies, the State aims to increase the availability of affordable child care that is safe, healthy, and educationally rich.
