    David Barnes focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters, including numerous cases involving construction liens, the False Claims Act, director and officer liability, deals-gone-bad and class-actions. Mr. Barnes also has significant experience defending dietary supplement manufacturers in disputes with the FDA, FTC and private plaintiffs. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Barnes was an associate at King & Spalding. He was class valedictorian and earned a J.D. summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University School of Law.

  • Experience

    • Filed numerous briefs in appellate courts across the country, including the United States Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eleventh, D.C. and Federal Circuits.
    • Successfully defended real-estate developer in multi-million dollar dispute in state court over alleged fraudulent transfers.
    • Successfully overturned class certification in appeal alleging unlawful insurance payment procedures by national car insurer.
    • Obtained summary judgment for New York based private equity firm in $40 million dispute over the value of a landfill.
    • Argued dispositive motions in federal and state court and presented oral argument to numerous appellate courts.
