Smith and Ruiz to Present Implicit Bias in the Workplace

February 21, 2018

Attorneys Karen Smith and Rachael Ruiz will present Implicit Bias in the Workplace at the February 21, 2018 meeting of American Institute of Architects Chattanooga.

Implicit bias refers to the attitudes and stereotypes that are outside of one's conscious awareness and control but affect day-to-day social interactions. The presentation will focus on what is implicit bias, how to recognize it, and the importance of reducing it in the workplace as it affects all aspects in the work place, including hiring, recruiting and promotions. Everyone has implicit biases and learning how to recognize and combat them will benefit any company, firm or business in the long run.
