Corporate Lawyer T.J. Gentle Featured in Hamilton County Herald

Miller & Martin corporate attorney T. J. Gentle was featured in the June 30, 2023 issue of the Hamilton County Herald. In the article titled "Experience on Both Sides: Gentle Happy with Return to Law After Business Venture," T. J. explains how his business experience adds value to client relationships since returning to the practice of law after a decade-long stint managing a venture-backed company. T. J. originally joined Miller & Martin in 2000, spending five years as a corporate and transactional attorney. During that time, he co-founded the Chattanooga Technology Council and worked with various early stage and high growth companies, including Smart Furniture, which T. J. would later join and spend more than 10 years working in various roles, including serving as the company’s CEO. After working for more than a decade in the business world, T. J. returned to Miller & Martin in 2015.

T. J. Gentle is a Member in Miller & Martin's Corporate Department where he concentrates his practice on mergers and acquisitions and business transactions. His experience working with high-growth companies, raising venture capital, and working with professional investors and boards of directors enables T. J. to bring a practical, common-sense approach to advising business owners and entrepreneurs. T. J. is passionate about business and enjoys working with strategic and private equity buyers and sellers. He advises clients in general business matters, raising debt and equity capital financing, buying and selling businesses, structuring strategic alliances and joint ventures, and protecting and licensing intellectual property.
