Miller & Martin Expands Atlanta Office with Four Attorneys Across Multiple Practice Areas
Miller & Martin PLLC announces the addition of four attorneys to its Atlanta office, expanding the firm’s capabilities in corporate, litigation, real estate and intellectual property law.
Kevin Abernethy joins the firm and brings extensive experience in corporate law, government relations and business litigation. Abernethy previously served as Vice President for Government Relations at the University of Georgia and as Chief of the Civil Division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Georgia. He also served as past Chairman of Georgia’s Ethics Commission, where he presided over dozens of administrative hearings. Prior to these roles, Abernethy gained corporate general counsel experience with a focus on the commercial generation of electricity and served as Deputy Legislative Counsel in Georgia’s Lt. Governor’s Office.

Cory McKenna returns to Miller & Martin’s Real Estate practice, where he focuses on commercial real estate development, investing and leasing. McKenna is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal. He previously clerked for the Honorable Gregory P. McGuire of the North Carolina Business Court.
McKenna is licensed to practice in Georgia and North Carolina.
Joey Hargadon joins the firm’s Litigation department as an associate. Hargadon focuses on resolving business disputes and litigation matters for clients across various industries including construction, manufacturing and automotive. He earned his law degree magna cum laude from Mercer University School of Law, where he was a published author and student writing editor for the Mercer Law Review. His excellence was recognized with CALI awards for Evidence and Conflict of Laws, the Judge Richard Mills Prize for Outstanding Law Review Service, and the Faculty Award for Legal Writing.
Hargadon is licensed to practice in Georgia.
Park Summerour joins Miller & Martin’s Intellectual Property group as an associate, focusing primarily on patents and trademarks. He works with clients across multiple industries including software, surgical equipment, car wash equipment, consumer grills and smokers, and flooring. Summerour earned his law degree cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law, where he received a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee and previously worked as a process engineer and lab technician with one of the largest craft breweries in the country prior to law school.
Summerour is licensed to practice in Georgia and will serve on the Board of Directors for the Georgia IP Alliance, University IP Alliance, starting January 1, 2026.
