Overview
Ashley West Thompson concentrates her practice on civil litigation and appellate practice, with a focus on written advocacy and creative strategic guidance on complex legal and factual issues.
Her experience includes more than 15 years as an attorney for the federal government. Ashley’s government service included roles as a staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, as an attorney for the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Middle District of Tennessee, and as a law clerk for the Honorable Harry S. Mattice, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. In these roles, she garnered specialized expertise in appellate practice and a wide range of civil, commercial, and criminal litigation. Ashley has represented clients at every stage of litigation in state and federal court and has obtained victories in both federal and state appeals.

Ashley loves to travel. During law school, she studied abroad at University of Oxford in England. She and her husband are currently working towards their goal of visiting every U.S. National Park.
